Robert White is the only gay, Aspergic, quarter-Welsh comic on the British comedy scene. Known for his brilliant timing and performance style, Robert’s chaotic stage presence, improvisational skills and delivery won him the 2010 Malcolm Hardy Award for Comic Originality. And in the same year, he wrote one of Dave’s Top Ten Jokes of The Fringe.
He is arguably best known as coming second in ITV’s highest rated show, Britain’s Got Talent, in 2018.
The quirky comic sailed through his first audition, after his offbeat humour and fantastically rude song about the judges brought a standing ovation. Despite the barbs, they all loved it and unanimously voted him through to the next stage. However, Robert stepped it up a notch in his semi-final performance – poking fun at himself and his sexuality before performing an even ruder song about the panel.
His performances throughout were typically chaotic, but hilarious. Robert’s incredible stage presence and fast-paced comedy routines won over the judges and voting public, at every stage of the show.
Since he first came onto the stand-up scene, as a finalist in the prestigious Hackney Empire Competition, Robert has gone from strength to strength.
He is now a sought-after act who regularly performs across the country and internationally. His off the wall jokes, improvisatory songs, barely-believable stories and interactive music stand him far apart from the usual comedy available nationwide.
A regular at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe since 2010, his shows regularly impress critics and audiences alike. Robert brought his brilliant comedy-opera InstruMENTAL to Edinburgh in 2017, astounding audiences with the show's hilarious lyricism and musical ingenuity. Due to huge demand to return after the BGT finals in 2018, he performed for just three nights in Edinburgh with his show 'Robert White and his Particularly Silly Organ' at the Pleasance.
Robert is now embarking on a follow up tour ‘The Tank Top Tour 2’ in 2020 after bringing all the fun he showed on the TV, live across 31 venues, on his debut UK tour 'TheTank Top Tour' in 2019, with a suitcase full of his trademark vests.
